A senior Shia politician has confessed that the Kurdish cause is the unsolved problem of the last century of Iraq’s history.
Humam Hamudi, a senior member of the Supreme Islamic Council in Iraq and a Kurdish friend said on Sunday that the unsolved problem of the last century of his country was the Kurdish question, so this pushes them to work to overcome problems between Kurds and Arabs.
Concerning Kurdish and Arab relations, Hamudi described their relations with Kurds as “good”, adding that pending issues between Erbil and Baghdad need time and trust between the two sides.
The Shia official disclosed that obvious progress has been made in amending the Iraqi permanent constitution, but amending certain articles, namely Article 140 has been delayed.
